Made in the Streets

Made in the Streets is a children's center for youth who are without a home throughout Nairobi, Kenya. The organization has several satellite centers throughout Nairobi where they provide reliable meals, education, and a safe space for children. Their greenhouse helps provide fresh and nutritious produce to all five of the site's kitchens that sustain 98 children and community members.

"Before our greenhouse, we used to spend around KES 10,000 per month for vegetables for the 8 kitchens in our facility. Now we supply our kitchens and we even sell some to the teachers and generatee about KES 5,300.00.The entire Made in The Streets community is more than grateful and feel humbled by the work we do with WMO2H. Greenhouse farming is definitely a better way of farming: farming that makes sense! Our greenhouse is meeting our vegetable needs more than we could imagine, we are producing so much more than we were used to when we were planting outside."
