"My name is Francis Leperes, I am an elder at the Osiligi Community. We are united here and we live in harmony. We mostly rely on water harvesting and during dry seasons we fetch water from the Mara River which isn’t clean for consumption. The Mara River is about 8 kilometers away and we compete with wild animals. Typhoid and malaria are the main illnesses that we experience here. Our women and children suffer a lot when looking for water because of the wild animals roaming around. Clean water, sustainable food and good sanitation will help our community have better health."
- Fracis Leperes, Community Elder, 2020
